Agatha Vega: From Venezuela to Venerated Vixen

Agatha Vega: From Venezuela to Venerated Vixen

Agatha Vega was brought up in a small neighborhood in Caracas, Venezuela, a city known for its urban dangers. Yet despite her surroundings, she says she had very positive experiences growing up. With various relatives living in close proximity, she was always able to enjoy the company of her family.

Back then, Vega attended a school run by nuns who, she notes wryly, would likely not approve of some of her career decisions. Her eventual journey into the ranks of adult entertainment, however, began with an "innocent" hobby: her early fascination with photography.

After choosing modeling over college, she combined her new career with her passion for photography by taking self-portraits. She then collaborated with freelance photographers and, over time, became more comfortable with her appearance and body. As her shoots began to explore erotic themes, she was offered work by an adult website. Though this was something she had never done before, Vega accepted.

Her strong sex drive, her self-professed obsession with orgasming, and her desire to please others and be pleasured in return all translated well on camera, resulting in an offer to perform her first-ever boy/girl scene, an opportunity she immediately seized. The rest is history.

Meanwhile, the increasingly chaotic situation in Venezuela, with prices going up and quality of life falling drastically, led her to move away. While she misses many things about her homeland, Vega says she has never regretted her move, since she now has the freedom to explore her passions fully and flourish like never before.

Having recently been crowned Female Performer of the Year at the 2024 XBIZ Europa Awards, Vega now finds herself at the zenith of her career. In this interview, she reveals, with her trademark candor and zest, exactly what that means for her and for her fans.

XBIZ: How have you evolved, personally and professionally, since entering this industry?

VEGA: I have evolved a lot, learning about myself, what I like and what I don’t like when it comes to intimacy and my body. I’ve learned how to be more confident as I am, with my flaws and my virtues. I’ve learned what I want to allow and what I don’t want to allow anymore from people, on set and in my daily life.

I have learned to not judge, to be way more open-minded, more patient and more careful, and not to trust anyone blindly. I now take better care of my health, which I didn’t do as good a job of before joining this industry. I’ve traveled a lot, discovering different cultures, ways to think and ways to see life.

I’ve made many mistakes, but I’m learning from them. All the good and bad things have made me the person and the performer I am — the “evolved” form of Agatha Vega. I’m proud of who I have become, though there are still things I want to change about myself.

I’ve become a better actress. I now know how to pose and make a photographer’s life easier when shooting. I have discovered my love for creating wonderful content with creative people, showing different emotions and a particular fascination for creating erotic or boudoir stills.

I have embraced my physical imperfections such as my stretch marks, my dark spots, cellulitis and more, while focusing on the attributes my fans like best, such as my eyes and my smile, which they often compliment. And of course, more than modeling or acting, I’ve learned a lot about marketing, social media, editing, production and more. I’m proud of it all!

XBIZ: Who are your favorite performers and scene partners to work with, and why?

VEGA: It’s hard to pick just a few names, because I have fun with so many different people. Honestly, I don’t have any true favorites! But if I have to choose, I would say I always enjoy working with male actors who make you smile and are funny and easygoing, such as Alberto Blanco, Christian Clay, Sam Bourne, Nikki Nutz, Kristof Cale and Potro del Bilbao. Among the girls, I have the most fun when they also speak Spanish, but I have a great time with all of them.

XBIZ: How about directors and studios?

VEGA: I’ve enjoyed working with a lot of different studios and productions, all of whom are fun in their own ways; they all give you different kinds of experiences. For example, I started to work with Vixen and I feel like they are family, because I’ve come to know many people from the crew over the years. At first, I used to travel a lot with them, and they empower you to experience luxury types of movies, traveling to the most wonderful places you never imagined going to, while helping you improve your skills at acting.

But I have also worked a lot for VR productions, which I love because it’s faster and easier than most shoots and you learn how to make a totally immersive experience for the fan, making it intimate and personalized.

Then, working with Romero and his productions has been a totally different experience, as you improve your acting on another level where they ask you things no other production does: to show fear, or to cry or pretend to have a dick. So it’s always fun, but also exhausting to work for them, as it is not the fastest shoot day! But I understand, because they are striving for an end product that goes above and beyond.

I also love girl/girl shoots, because they are slower scenes that are more intimate and you get to really enjoy being in the moment. I’ve cum a lot from girl/girl scenes.

XBIZ: How do you stay healthy and balance work and life?

VEGA: I have to be honest: I’ve never been the most healthy person! I smoke, drink and don’t exercise too often — except for sex, swimming or masturbation! But I’m on the path to change that. I like to eat at home, cook my own food and drink a lot of water. I love to spend time in the sun to get vitamin D, and surround myself with people I love and who love me, and smile as much as I can. I love to snorkel and just be floating in the sea or the pool. I do go to the gym sometimes. I like to jump rope, which I want to get better at, and do yoga. I take vitamins, supplements and go to the doctor often — mostly my gynecologist. So I’m slowly becoming a more healthy person, hopefully.

XBIZ: How do you approach social media marketing to keep fans engaged?

VEGA: I focus on showing myself in as real and casual a way as possible, because in the end, I believe this is what truly helps you build a good fan base, where people want to feel connected with you. They want to feel they can speak with you, that you are a normal person who has good and bad moments, that sometimes you look better than other times and that you’re someone with whom they can share their passions and fears.

So basically, I want to offer a girlfriend experience to as many people as I can, because I truly love to fall in love with people; everybody’s so different and everyone has something different to offer or teach you. I’ve become really close to many of my fans, and all because I showed myself as being real. They want to know all about you, get to really know the girl behind the artistic name you choose — but also, of course, to have fun with the character you built.

XBIZ: What was it like being named Female Performer of the Year at the Europas this year?

VEGA: It was truly a dream come true. I really wanted to win in this category at least once in my life, because it feels so good to know that people love the things you’re doing. That includes fans, of course, as well as producers, directors and everyone who nominated and voted for me. Just to be recognized for the hard work you do — for being consistent, for making yourself grow in this industry where there’s so much competition — is just amazing! I’m really proud of myself and how far I’ve come.

XBIZ: Any big goals for this coming year?

VEGA: Yes, many! Some I would prefer not to share because I believe it’s better to not mention certain things before they actually happen. But I can share that I’m planning to do a few more big scenes, and I will probably start to shoot less and less because, like most of the people in the industry, I want to focus on my own platforms and keep offering the best of myself to my fans. I know they’re going to be happy to see me working with certain people and shooting some specific types of scenes they’ve always dreamed of seeing me in. But it’s all a surprise, so stay tuned, because 2025 is going to be a great year!
